What we Believe

We believe that the Bible is inspired by God.  We believe it is historically accurate and without error in its original text.  We consider the Bible to be the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in one God who is the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

We believe that the one infinite and eternal God reveals Himself in three persons:  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We believe that each person is eternally distinct while sharing the one undivided substance of deity.

We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God.

We believe that there is a devil; an evil being of great cunning and power.   While he can exert great power and influence on the world, he can only do so as far as God permits.  We believe that ultimately he will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone to be tormented for all eternity.

We believe that Adam and Eve's original sin in the Garden of Eden, initiated physical death, spiritual death, and its generational transmission to the entire human race.

We believe that Jesus Christ -- the Second Person of the Trinity -- was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mary.  We believe Him to be both fully God and fully man; having two distinct natures.

We believe that Jesus Christ came to live the perfect life that we could never live.   As the unblemished Lamb of God, He offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

We believe that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and subsequently rose from the dead on the third day.  We believe that He rose from the dead in the same -- albeit glorified -- physical body that hung on the cross.

We believe that Jesus ascended into Heaven -- in the same resurrected, glorified, physical body -- and was seated at the right hand of The Father.

We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ.   We believe that upon His return He will gather to Himself all those who have trusted in Him as their Savior.

We believe that no one is "good enough" to go to Heaven.  To go to Heaven, we believe that you must accept Jesus Christ as Savior.  We believe that salvation is only found by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone.

We believe in a conscious existence after death.  Those who have accepted Christ as their Savior will spend an eternity with God in Heaven. Those who have rejected God's love -- as offered through the Lord Jesus Christ -- will spend an eternity apart from God in Hell.

We believe that once you have been saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, that you can never lose your salvation.

We believe that the Holy Spirit -- the Third Person of the Trinity -- convicts people of their sins, regenerates the forgiven, indwells believers, illuminates Scripture, sets apart Christians for good works, and empowers them for service.

We believe that water baptism is not necessary for salvation.  Rather, it is an outward sign of salvation, and the first act of obedience for a Christian.

We believe that Christians should always be prepared to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe that Christians should strive to live a life that is pleasing to God.
